Bryce Finds Hope By Shaving Head In Honor of Younger Brother
By: Laura Apodaca, Online Marketing Specialist
Bryce Smith is a quiet and gentle young man who cares very deeply for his family. A family which was cut short a year earlier after he lost his 12 year-old brother Spencer to cancer. Spencer had a very rare but aggressive type of cancer claiming his life at such a young age. Bryce decided to participate in our annual Brave the Shave for Kids Cancer event in solidarity of his brother's death. Even though the loss of his brother has been painful, Bryce says shaving his head gave him the power to accept and move on from his loss.
The second annual Brave the Shave Event for Kids Cancer in League City, Texas, hosted by ACU of Texas, is hoping to raise more than $20,000 for childhood cancer research. All the money we raise will be donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. KPRC 2 Meteorologist Justin Stapleton will be hosting the event. Food trucks, a silent auction, a bean bag tournament, plus other activities will be available for the entire family. Make plans to come out and support those getting their heads shaved and together as a community we can help kids fight this potentially deadly disease.
