Associated Credit Union of Texas (best known as ACU of Texas) is using Facebook as the social media platform to encourage members and followers to suggest a charity for us to make a generous donation to.

The program called ACU of Texas' Charity Chat interacts with fans to better serve the nonprofit community through engaging conversation. Being a local financial institution, Charity Chat is a way for us to interact with our supportive members and constituents of the community while assisting organizations who may not have access to a lot of resources.
"I am extremely proud of our efforts to help the local charities in our area," said Chief Operations Officer Jay Coppock. "Our Members are extremely passionate about these Charities and this program allows to help them give back and reward those who make our communities better."
Social media followers can log onto to our Facebook page and nominate the charity on the status update field. The charity with the most nominations will receive the donation in the name of one Facebook fan. ACU of Texas has been running the campaign Charity Chat for over a year. The first charity to be awarded a donation was the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County. A donation was made on behalf of Facebook fans Angelico Jaramillo and Teasha Cote.
