League City, Texas - The Associated Credit Union of Texas and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation teamed up for "Brave the Shave for Kids with Cancer."
Channel 2 Meteorologist, Justin Stapleton, hosted the event Saturday.
The event brings together dozens of volunteers, including the League City Volunteer Fire Department, along with families who show their support to children and their families, by shaving their heads bald.
Trish McIntosh, with the League City Volunteer Fire Department, was just one of the many people who shaved it off to help raise awareness for children fighting cancer.
This isn't just something that happens out there, this happens to people you know and love, and this is a real thing and if we can do anything, especially as something as simple as this, then let's do it," said McIntosh.
"I really love doing events like this, seeing how strong the kids are, is just amazing" said Stapleton.
All the proceeds raised are donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to help fund childhood cancer research.
