Program offers opportunity to meet local officers, discuss community issues
LEAGUE CITY – On October 4, officers from departments across the area and community members will come together at their local Associated Credit Union of Texas (ACU of Texas) in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee.
All community members are invited to attend one of the 16 events to be hosted by ACU of Texas. Events will take place on October 4 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m., below are the addresses of each ACU of Texas location Coffee with a Cop will occur, broken down by city:

“Our hope is that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know the officers in our neighborhoods,” said Jack Click, Chief Executive Officer of ACU of Texas. “Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity to build lasting connections, which are the foundation of community partnerships.”
Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held across the county, as local police departments aim to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time.
