by Remy Martinez | Mar 05, 2018

Brave the Shave for Kids with Cancer at World’s Greatest Shave

LEAGUE CITY, TEXAS – Associated Credit Union of Texas has partnered with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for the third annual Brave the Shave for Kids with Cancer fundraising event. Dozens of volunteers and members of the community will come together and show solidarity with childhood cancer sufferers by shaving their heads and donating to childhood cancer research.

“Since 2016, we have be impressed with the turnout of the community in support of this fantastic event,” said Tony Sims, Vice President of Marketing at ACU of Texas. “Men, women, young and old all turn out so shave their heads and raise money for childhood cancer research, and we couldn’t be more proud.”

Associated Credit Union of Texas has raised over $40,000 since 2016 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, where all proceeds help to fund childhood cancer research. Every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and in the United States, 1 in 5 won’t survive. St. Baldrick’s raises money to fund lifesaving research, and is the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants.

The event will take place Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Associated Credit Union of Texas Corporate Headquarters at 1095 League City Parkway, League City Texas 77573. As is tradition, hilarious commentary will take place while members of the community get their heads shaved in a show of support for those fighting childhood cancer.
