Direct Deposit FAQs

What is Direct Deposit?
Direct deposit is a form of electronic payment using the Automated Clearing House (ACH). Direct deposit is primarily used by employers to pay employees and by government agencies for payments such as social security and VA benefits.
How do I switch my Direct Deposit?

You can conveniently switch your direct deposit yourself with just a few steps:

  1. Log in to Digital Banking from ACUTX.org or in the ACU of Texas Mobile Banking app.
  2. In the menu, navigate to "Add/Switch Direct Deposit."
  3. Search for and select your employer, payroll system, or benefits provider. If you can't find your employer by name, you may need to search for your payroll provider instead.
  4. Log in to your employee or benefits account.
  5. Confirm your paycheck distribution, and you'll be done!

If you cannot find your employer or payroll provider from the list, contact us or access our Direct Deposit Form to switch.

How long will it take for a change in Direct Deposit to take effect?
Depending on the time of submission and your pay cycle, it can take 2-4 weeks, or 1-2 pay periods.
Can my Direct Deposit be a percentage of my paycheck?
Yes, you can choose between a fixed amount or a percentage when setting up new paycheck distributions.

At our discretion, we may make the funds for certain ACH credit transactions, including most payroll deposits, available to you before the ACH deposit's scheduled payment date. The funds, if deposited early, will be provisional until the final settlement on the scheduled payment date. The date that funds are made available to you will be reflected in your applicable account's transaction history. Whether or not the funds are made available early and exactly when the funds are made available depend on when we receive the payment instructions from the ACH payer and are subject to fraud prevention measures and other applicable restrictions. We do not guarantee that funds will be made available early or that funds will be made available by any specific time of day. Any funds that are not available early will be made available according to our Membership Account Agreement.

Membership requires savings account with minimum balance of $1. Federally insured by NCUA.
